We are looking forward to the 78th annual Oshkosh Children’s Day Parade — the parade by the children, for the children, and for you! This year’s parade will take place on Sunday, August 8, 2010 on Oshkosh’s south side.
The theme for this year’s parade is Under the Sea and we encourage all youth ages 16 and under to dress up in costume or build a float &mdash or both!
Cash prizes will be awarded in several categories. After the parade, we will raffle off several new bicycles and other great prizes.
Registration begins at 1:00 PM at 6th Ave. & Idaho St., with line-up and judging taking place at 1:30. The parade begins at 2:00 and will proceed along the following route:
Begin on the corner of 6th Ave. and Idaho St.
East on 6th Ave. to Ohio St.
South on Ohio St. to 11th Ave.
West on 11th Ave. to Georgia St.
South on Georgia St. to South Park entrance.
In case of rain, all entrants are asked to report to the large shelter at South Park at 2:00 for judging and prize giveaway.
The 2010 Oshkosh Jaycees Children’s Day Parade is sponsored by Sweetwater Performance Center. We thank them for their generous support.
We encourage creativity when building parade floats, but bicycles and motorized vehicles are not allowed.

The Oshkosh Jaycees 11th annual Oshkosh Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 3, 2010, at South Park, was a huge success. Over 700 children and their families attended the free event.
Children were able to participate in activities such as a coloring contest, face painting, a jump castle, touring a police car and fire truck, and getting pictures taken with the Easter Bunny.
Each child got to pick one egg during the hunt and return it for a prize. All children received a goodie bag stuffed with toys, candy and coupons. Nine children received special prizes – beach toys, art supplies, board games, Milwaukee Brewers tickets, EAA Airventure Museum tickets, and large stuffed animals.
Thank you to our major area sponsors, Sadoff Iron & Metal and Fox Valley Savings Bank; our small area sponsors, AIA Corporation and Oshkosh Corporation; our many in-kind sponsors; and all of our participants. Next year’s event will be held on Saturday, April 23. To learn more, call the Oshkosh Jaycees at 920-385-9231 or email eeh@oshkoshjaycees.org.
