Been to this event the last 5 years and its a great event every year, however not so happy on the times. They keep making it shorter and shorter. I think they should make it go back to being 12-6pm.

    Hi Jeff,

In the time since Brews ‘n Blues was a longer event there have been some changes to state law that make it very hard for us to make a profit while serving unlimited beverages for such a long time period. In order to keep the cost reasonable for the guests, but still make money for local charities, we’ve had to make changes. We felt that 4 hours was still reasonable and is comparable to similar events in the area. This is our biggest event that we use to raise funds for the charities we support and to host our free events.

We hope you still decide to join us this year. We are really working hard to make it worth every bit of your time and money!

Just wondering if there was some sort of discount offered to designated drivers.

  4. BCr8ive Says:

Is there a reduced rate for designated drivers?

  5. Matt Mutz Says:

I’m sorry – this year we do not have a reduced admission rate for designated drivers.

I have attended this event for the past 10 years and must say this was the worst year ever. Last year you had a record number of brewers and this year you had half as many. Also who wears tie-dyed shirts other than hippies and stoners? They were the worst shirst I have ever seen, since when does black and navy blue go together? They don’t! I hope the event returns to of an event like last year.

    Hi Jim,

I’m sorry you feel that way. We worked really hard to make this event one of the best Brews ‘n Blues in recent memory. We made a few decisions that strayed from last year, and we stand proudly by our decisions. The outcome of the event seems to support that our changes for 2010 worked well and pleased most people.

Regarding the brewers in attendance at this year’s event, I checked our numbers and this year we had 38 brewers, compared to last year’s 37. That might not be astronomical growth, but it is an increase over last year. And, for t-shirts, we received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback from people who were glad to see such a significant change over the most recent t-shirts, which were all a solid color. Tie-dye might not be your thing, but it is definitely popular.

We have taken note of your thoughts, and if you have specific suggestions for improvement, we welcome them and would like to hear from you. Please send any Brews ‘n Blues feedback to bnb@oshkoshjaycees.org. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at Brews ‘n Blues 2011 (date TBD).
